The Vatican Highlights the Struggles of Haitians in the Dominican Republic

The Holy See has recently cast a stark light on the troubling situation of Haitian migrants living in the Dominican Republic. In an article, Vatican News, the media outlet linked to the Holy See, highlights the ordeal of over one million Haitian refugees living in the Dominican Republic and denounces the threat to their lives due to the “systematic violation of their fundamental rights.”

While millions of Haitians have fled their country and sought refuge in neighboring Dominican Republic, Dominican authorities are rejecting these refugees and implementing increasingly harsh anti-migration policies against them.
