FNE Honors Haiti's Teachers Shaping the Nation's Future

In anticipation of National Teachers' Day celebrated on May 17, the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) honored seven teachers from the West Department on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Karibe Hotel, for their commitment to education in Haiti. The ceremony brought together the President of the Presidential Transitional Council, Fritz Alphonse Jean, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, members of the government, students, teachers, and educational partners. On this occasion, the Director General of the National Education Fund (FNE), Sterline Civil, delivered a speech full of appreciation, highlighting the fundamental role of teachers and announcing concrete actions, including a professionalization project aimed at valuing and strengthening the quality of education throughout the country.

In her address, Sterline Civil emphasized the importance of teachers in Haitian society. "On this day that is rightfully yours, I extend to you a sincere thank you and deep respect," she said, addressing the teachers of the country directly. "You are far more than mere transmitters of knowledge: you are builders of minds and awakeners of consciousness," Ms. Civil explained.
