Fritz Alphonse Jean to the Nation: “We Hear You, the CPT Will Restore Security”

In a national address this Thursday, April 3, 2025, Fritz Alphonse Jean, President of the Transitional Presidential Council, acknowledged the suffering of the Haitian people one year after the April 3 agreement. Faced with an ongoing chaotic security situation, he reaffirmed the CTP’s commitment to a transitional break. He also called for unity between citizens and security forces to fight the violence of criminal groups. We publish below the full text of the national address.

The Haitian people have spoken, we have heard you, and we know your misery, your hardships, and your suffering under this criminal system that has turned the country into a hell for all of us. Today, on the first anniversary of the April 3, 2024 Agreement, the CPT wants to take this opportunity to tell the Haitian people that we stand with you, side by side, in the fight we are waging together to uproot this widespread insecurity in the country.
