"The Situation Is Not Improving," Says IOM Mission Chief About Haiti’s Security Situation

The head of mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Grégoire Goodstein, observes that the situation in Haiti “is not improving,” as the country has surpassed the threshold of one million internally displaced persons due to gang violence.

“Unfortunately, I don’t see an end. I have the feeling that the situation is not improving,” lamented Grégoire Goodstein, IOM’s Chief of Mission in Haiti, during an appearance on Magik 9’s morning show on Monday, March 25, 2025. Mr. Goodstein called for prioritizing the restoration of security to allow the more than one million internally displaced people to return to their neighborhoods.
