Haiti’s Electoral Council Unable to Announce Election and Referendum Dates

Time is running against the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) for organizing the referendum and elections this year. While the CPT struggles to restore security, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) has already submitted the referendum calendar, budget, and decree. However, the presidential advisers have yet to publish these documents in Le Moniteur. The president of the CEP told Le Nouvelliste that this delay has slowed the process, emphasizing that he is not currently able to set a date for the referendum.
