UEH Elects a New Executive Council

Elections at the State University of Haiti (UEH) have finally taken place. After two failed attempts to organize elections at UEH, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) succeeded on Sunday, March 9, 2025, by electing a new Executive Council to lead the institution, in the premises of the rectorate. Dieuseul Prédelus, Predener Duvivier, and Jacques Blaise were elected, respectively, as rector, vice-rector for academic affairs, and vice-rector for research.

Without surprise and without the need for a second round, Professor Dieuseul Prédelus overwhelmingly won the election with 95.45% of the votes, or 21 against 1, defeating his rival Jean Poincy to become the new rector of UEH. Predener Duvivier won the position of vice-rector for academic affairs with 58.33% of the votes, or 14, against 6 for Marc Félix Civil and 4 for Tadal Étienne. Jacques Blaise was re-elected as vice-rector for research, defeating his rival Vogly Nahum Pongnon with 73.91% of the votes, or 17 against 6
