In six district-communes of the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince, gangs have been shooting, burning, looting, and killing for nearly a month—these past few days, even more so.
A young child succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head in Gressier. An entire family was wiped out in Delmas 30. Some fifteen deaths have been reported in Tabarre 27. In Fort-National, Kenscoff, and Carrefour-Feuilles, death lurks. Residents live with the constant and harrowing sound of gunfire, unsure of what to do.
