The UN launched an appeal on Thursday for more than $900 million in donations to assist 3.9 million people in Haiti in 2025, a country devastated by gang violence, where nearly half the population faces acute food insecurity.
"The humanitarian situation in Haiti has continued to deteriorate throughout 2024. Armed violence has caused immeasurable suffering, particularly for women and children," said the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in its humanitarian plan for 2025.
