Indian Consulate Vehicles Attacked in Haiti: One Dead, Four Injured

Armed gangs attacked three vehicles belonging to the Consulate General of India in Haiti on Wednesday, January 21, shortly before 8 a.m. on the airport road. The attack resulted in one fatality, the consul's assistant, and four injuries.

The injured include two drivers and the consul's two daughters. The wounded are receiving medical treatment at a hospital, but their lives are not in danger, according to a source from the Indian Consulate in Haiti.

The victims were en route to their office in Sarthe when the attack occurred, just a day after gangs targeted a vehicle from the U.S. Embassy in Tabarre.
