IOM Reports Over One Million Internally Displaced People in Haiti

1,041,229 internally displaced persons (IDPs) have been recorded in Haiti by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). This figure was disclosed in a report published on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. This represents the highest number of people displaced by violence ever recorded in Haiti.

According to the IOM, the 1,041,229 IDPs reflect a 48% increase compared to data released in December. Among these more than one million displaced persons, many have been forced to move multiple times and are facing an "increasingly deep humanitarian crisis."
