Max Chauvet Reflects on January 12, 2010, 15 Years Later

On January 12, 2010, an earthquake struck Haiti. The toll was devastating: hundreds of thousands of deaths, injuries, and homeless individuals. On a material level, the destruction was immense. As the 15th anniversary of the earthquake approaches, Max Chauvet, director of Le Nouvelliste, shared how he experienced this tragedy.

On Friday, January 10, 2025, Max Chauvet welcomed us to his office in Pétion-Ville. As the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the January 12, 2010, earthquake draws near, Chauvet agreed to share his memories of the deadly disaster. Without hesitation, he recounted his experience in vivid detail.
