A Resolution for Renewing the HOPE/HELP Act Introduced in U.S. Congress

A first step appears to have been taken toward renewing the HOPE/HELP legislation for Haiti. On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, a renewal proposal was introduced to the U.S. Congress.

Speaking on Magik 9, Georges Sassine, of the Association des Industries d’Haïti (ADIH), announced on Wednesday, December 18, that the HOPE/HELP legislation “has been attached to a continuing resolution.” This resolution, proposed for a five-year period, aims to “renew government funding for its operations. This is an important step,” explained Mr. Sassine.
