Following the 2021-2024 Security Crisis Assessment, Haiti Seeks $1.3 Billion

1.3 billion dollars over the next two years. This is what Haiti is seeking after conducting its impact assessment of the 2021-2024 security crisis. A donor meeting is planned for early 2025 in Washington. The security crisis persists, and its cost is likely to rise further. However, Haitian authorities and development partners agree that this evaluation highlights the importance of coordination and provides a framework and the possibility of having a funding plan.

“The impact assessment of the security crisis estimates the investment needs at 1.3 billion USD over the next two years to address immediate needs,” announced Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé during the virtual launch ceremony of the Rapid Crisis Impact Assessment (RCIA) report. The event gathered, among others, several government ministers, representatives from the World Bank, the IDB, the European Union, the United Nations system, business associations, and economists, on Monday, December 16, 2024.
