Police to Deliver a Decisive Response to Wharf Jérémie Gang Leader Post-Massacre

The Haitian National Police (PNH) stated that it is addressing the situation in Wharf Jérémie and plans to deliver a "firm response" regarding the massacre perpetrated by the gang leader Micanor. The police institution provided an update on Wednesday, December 11, during a press conference, on the operations carried out and ongoing in the West and Artibonite departments.

Although the police were unable to respond to the massacre in Wharf Jérémie last weekend, despite having a base in Delmas 3, a firm response to the atrocity against the population is planned, according to the PNH’s Deputy Spokesperson, Lionel Lazarre. The PNH has not yet provided figures for the massacre carried out by Micanor's gang. According to preliminary reports, nearly 200 people, most of them elderly, were killed in Wharf Jérémie.
