Artisanat en Fête: Kafe Dore and the Delight of Creation

Founded in 2012 by Carline Sévère, Kafe Dore is an artisan brand: to date, it boasts more than 1,500 unique creations and embodies an artistic vision rooted in “authenticity, uniqueness, and cultural pride.” Its mission is to celebrate and promote Haitian, Caribbean, and African cultures through vibrant colors, creative recycling, education, collaboration, and sustainable initiatives. This year, Kafe Dore will participate in Artisanat en Fête on December 14 and 15 at the Karibe Hotel. Le Nouvelliste met with Carline Sévère, the artistic director of Kafe Dore.

Le Nouvelliste: Can you tell us about your collection for Artisanat en Fête this year?

Carline Sévère: This year, as in every year, our workshop primarily presents jewelry. In addition, we will have hand-painted T-shirts featuring portraits of our heroines, denim bags (abako) with the portraits of our heroines, and leather handbags.
