Three Pillars for the CEP: Security, Electoral Funding, and Civic Engagement

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) is taking action, with several council members and institution staff attending a retreat in the northern part of the country. In an interview with the press on Wednesday, December 7, CEP President Patrick Saint-Hilaire outlined the council’s three priority areas: security, funding, and citizen participation in the upcoming elections.

“Security is a central issue for the CEP because it is closely tied to electoral participation,” said Patrick Saint-Hilaire. In addition to electoral and general security across the country, electoral funding and citizen participation are high on the CEP’s list of priorities, he explained.
