Jean Wilner Morin officially takes office as the new Ombudsman

On Thursday, November 21, 2024, Augustin Antoine, the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, inaugurated Magistrate Jean Wilner Morin as the new interim Protector of the Citizen in Delmas 33. He replaces Me Renan Hédouville, whose seven-year term has ended. Magistrate Morin assumes this position in a context where human rights violations are rampant in Haiti.

A respected career magistrate with a strong reputation in the judicial sector, Jean Wilner Morin is also a former journalist, teacher, communicator, pastor, and holds a master's degree in Educational Sciences. He takes the helm of the Office of the Protector of the Citizen (OPC).
