OAS Supports Transition of MSS into a Peacekeeping Mission

On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the OAS Permanent Council unanimously approved a resolution supporting Haiti’s request to transform the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) into a United Nations Peacekeeping Operation (UNPKO). Ultimately, the UN Security Council will need to address this request. However, the November 13 resolution serves as regional and diplomatic support.
