More than 145,000 Haitian migrants were repatriated to Haiti by Dominican migration authorities in the first six months of 2024. Although figures for the last quarter are not yet available, Haitian migrants continue to face significant challenges in the neighboring country. Some have been forced to pay bribes to leave detention centers and avoid being deported back to Haiti.
