On Thursday, September 12, 2024, Haitians living in Springfield, Ohio, experienced a terrible day. Early in the morning, bomb threats forced the evacuation of several institutions where Haitians work or attend.
This situation arose just two days after the presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, where baseless accusations were made about migrants allegedly eating cats and dogs. Since migrants in Springfield are predominantly Haitian, these accusations target them. They target us.
