MSSM: First CARICOM Troops Land in Port-au-Prince

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, 24 Jamaican soldiers and police officers, along with 2 Belizean soldiers, arrived in Port-au-Prince.

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, 24 Jamaican soldiers and police officers, along with 2 Belizean soldiers, arrived in Port-au-Prince. These troops joined the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM), which so far has been primarily composed of 400 Kenyan police officers. The Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Rameau Normil, and the MSSM Commander, Godfrey Otunge, welcomed this first contingent from CARICOM at Toussaint Louverture International Airport.
