BNC-CPT Scandal: EDE Party Cuts Ties with Smith Augustin

Smith Augustin, a member of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), has lost the support of his political party, Engagés pour le développement (EDE), due to his alleged involvement in the BNC corruption scandal.

Smith Augustin, a member of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), has lost the support of his political party, Engagés pour le développement (EDE), due to his alleged involvement in the BNC corruption scandal.

In a letter addressed to Augustin, the National Political Bureau (BPN) of EDE urged him to make a "wise decision" by resigning from the CPT. The newspaper also learned that during a meeting with CARICOM emissaries, the party leadership had already agreed to replace Augustin on the CPT.
