Blinken Holds Meetings with CPT President, Prime Minister, and Nine Political Leaders

During a brief visit to Port-au-Prince on Thursday, September 5, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met separately with the heads of the executive branch and no fewer than nine political organization leaders. Blinken aimed to gain a firsthand understanding of the transition, the security situation, and the country's prospects before heading to the Dominican Republic.

There were no major announcements. The U.S. Secretary of State primarily listened to Haitian political actors discuss the state of their country. As is often the case in meetings with international community members, the leaders and political actors had numerous grievances and concerns.
