President Leblanc Tells Secretary Blinken That Corruption Allegations "Impact the CPT"

The President of the Presidential Transition Council (CPT), Edgard Leblanc Fils, revealed that the dismissal of presidential advisors implicated in the National Credit Bank (BNC) scandal was not discussed during his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The president made this statement during a press briefing held at the Villa d'accueil on Thursday, September 5, just a few hours after meeting Mr. Blinken.

Antony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State, arrived in Port-au-Prince on Thursday, September 5, for a brief visit to Haiti. During his stay, Blinken held discussions with Prime Minister Garry Conille and CPT President Edgard Leblanc Fils. This visit comes at a time when allegations of corruption are looming over three of the nine members of the Presidential Transition Council.
