U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Brian A. Nichols, stated that the U.S., along with other partners, is considering a peacekeeping operation in Haiti to secure a reliable source of funding at a time when financial and troop commitments to the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission have yet to be fulfilled.
