Seven Investigation Reports Submitted to the Judiciary, Former Ministers Fleurant and Odney Involved

On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) submitted seven finalized investigation reports to the judiciary, along with requests for action against fourteen Haitian diplomats, consuls general, and consuls. These individuals are accused of failing to declare their assets, embezzling public funds, illicit enrichment, money laundering, extortion, abuse of office, insider trading, and illegal interest-taking. Among those implicated are former Minister of Planning and External Cooperation Aviol Fleurant and former Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Pierre Ricot Odney.

The ULCC has once again handed over its latest reports to the judiciary, calling for necessary legal action. These reports not only target former high-ranking government officials but also fourteen diplomats and consuls, who were flagged for failing to declare their assets. The ULCC is requesting that these individuals be stripped of their civil and political rights for the maximum period allowed by law. Additionally, the ULCC urges political and administrative authorities to keep these individuals far from any diplomatic roles.
