Security State of Emergency Imposed Nationwide, Transfer of CNE Equipment to the FAd’H.

On Monday, September 2, 2024, during a Cabinet meeting, the government and the Presidential Transition Council (CPT) decided to dissolve the National Equipment Center (CNE) and transfer all equipment to the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H). The meeting also provided an opportunity to extend the state of emergency nationwide and discuss a potential fourteenth month of salary for public administration employees, among other issues.

The Cabinet meeting, which had already been postponed twice, was finally held on September 2. A brief statement posted on the CPT's Facebook page read: “The President of the Presidential Transition Council, Mr. Edgard Leblanc Fils, chaired an important Cabinet meeting on Monday, September 2, 2024, addressing key issues for the country’s future.”
