FAES to Distribute 20,000 Gourdes to 261,000 Parents for New School Year Preparation

The Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), plans to distribute 20,000 gourdes to 261,000 parents of students in national schools across seven of the country’s ten departments.

This distribution is part of the government's strategy to support needy parents ahead of the school year.

The three departments excluded from this program are in the southern region: Grand'Anse, Nippes, and South. Serge Colin explained that these departments are currently involved in various projects following the devastating earthquake of August 14, 2021, and this decision was made in agreement with the MENFP.
