Livres en folie: Reflecting on the Future of Certain Haitian Library Titles

Livres en Folie 2024 was officially launched on Monday, August 12. During a press conference held at Terrasse Cascade, the organizers of the fair provided updates on the 30th edition, which, against all odds, will take place on Thursday, August 15. If the date of the fair is noteworthy, it is far from the only unique aspect this year. For this edition, Livres en Folie will not feature a guest of honor. Instead, the organizers are presenting a list of 165 authors for readers to explore in order to better understand Haiti.

"We created this list because we believe it is essential for young Haitians to read these authors to understand Haitian issues and to recognize that our current situation is not accidental; there are reasons behind it," said Max Chauvet, Director of Le Nouvelliste, one of the initiators of Livres en Folie, during the launch conference.
