Xavier Michon, Haiti’s UNDP Representative, Visits Le Nouvelliste

Xavier Michon, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative, paid a courtesy visit to Le Nouvelliste offices in Pétion-Ville on Monday, July 22, 2024. During his visit, Mr. Michon met with the newspaper's director, Max Chauvet, the editor-in-chief, Frantz Duval, and other editorial staff.

Appointed as the Resident Representative of the UNDP in Haiti in April 2024, after serving in an interim capacity from December 2023 to May 2024, Xavier Michon said his visit aimed “to listen and learn from reading the press.”

Taking the helm of the UNDP country office during a crisis, Mr. Michon expressed his intent to “build on the wishes expressed by the authorities and the population.” He stated, “We are an instrument and align ourselves with a country’s development aspirations.”
