Magalie Habitant, former director of the National Solid Waste Management Service (SNGRS), provided details about the new sanitation campaign launched last week in downtown Port-au-Prince, in which she is taking a leading role. Speaking on Magik 9 on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Ms. Habitant emphasized that this is a private initiative supported by individuals from the private business sector, members of the Transitional Presidential Council, and the government through the Ministry of Public Works, Transport, and Communications (MTPTC).
