A new sanitation campaign was launched this week in downtown Port-au-Prince, aimed at cleaning up the streets. Images and videos circulating on social media show teams of men and women working to remove accumulated waste.

The videos shared online depict scenes of trucks loaded with trash near the State University Hospital of Haiti, around the Champ de Mars area, and in the lower city neighborhoods. These cleaning efforts, though necessary, are being carried out in a particularly challenging context.
