For the first time since the demobilization of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD’H) in 1994, the United States mentioned the possibility of cooperating with the military. During a meeting on Wednesday, July 3, with the Haitian Minister of Defense, the U.S. Ambassador to Port-au-Prince discussed the role of the FAD’H in restoring security in the country. The training of Haitian soldiers was also discussed in another meeting between the minister and the Ambassador of Taiwan.
