Kenya Arrives, Haitians Depart

At the same Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince where the first 200 members of the Multinational Security Support Mission from Kenya arrived on June 25, 2024, just as many Haitians departed the same day through emigration or family reunification programs established by countries that welcome our compatriots with open arms.

The Kenyans arrive. The Haitians depart.

Fifty years ago, Haitians left as UN cadre to help newly independent African countries or moved to Quebec, which needed skilled labor.
