Privileges and Legal Protections for Multinational Mission Members

In the article (https://lenouvelliste.com/haiti-et-le-kenya-signent-laccord-sur-le-statut-de-la-mission-multinationale), Le Nouvelliste previously published a set of privileges and immunities granted to members of the Multinational Mission to Support Security in Haiti (MMAS) as outlined in the agreement on the status of the Mission signed between Haiti and Kenya on Friday, June 21, 2024. The newspaper, having obtained a copy of the agreement, now publishes additional privileges and immunities granted to the MMAS in this article.

After several months of waiting, members of the Kenyan police force are beginning to arrive in Haiti this week as part of UN Resolution 2699 adopted in October 2023. Before the deployment of the force named Multinational Mission to Support Security in Haiti (MSSM), Haiti and Kenya signed an agreement on the status of this mission which grants a range of privileges and immunities to MSSM personnel.
