Who is Raphaël Hosty, the New Minister of Public Works, Transport, and Communications?

Appointed by decree on June 11, 2024, Raphaël Hosty is the new head of the Ministry of Public Works, Transport, and Communications (MTPTC). Before his appointment, Hosty worked in the water sector as a technical specialist in Operations and Management of Drinking Water and Sanitation Networks at the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), a position he held since July 2023.

Hosty, an engineer with nearly four decades of experience, specializes in the study, implementation, and management of drinking water networks. According to his CV, he began his classical studies at Les Gonaïves with the Brothers of Christian Instruction from 1962 to 1968. After earning his primary education certificate, he moved to Port-au-Prince to continue his secondary education, graduating from the Petit Séminaire Collège Saint Martial in 1976.
