"We Want Colombia to be a Trade Partner for Haiti," Says Colombian Consul

Consul General of Colombia, Vilma Velásquez, met with around ten Haitian entrepreneurs on Thursday, April 4th, at the Colombian Consulate in Juvénat, who are eager to explore the Colombian market. This meeting, framed within a commercial context, will allow these entrepreneurs to participate in the 100th edition of the annual Macro Ruedas-Pro 2024 event, which will take place in Cartagena, Colombia, from April 22nd to 26th.

While commercial relations between the Dominican Republic and Haiti are strained due to repeated diplomatic tensions between the two countries, Haitian entrepreneurs are seeking to turn to other countries. Colombia is increasingly presenting itself as a viable option for these entrepreneurs, especially since the Colombian representation expressesed its readiness to contribute to prioritizing trade in this regard.
