EDH Facilities Damaged, Port-au-Prince Plunged into Darkness

Electricité d'Haïti (EDH) has also fallen victim to acts of vandalism that have affected various institutions across the country during recent events.

In a statement dated Monday, March 18, 2024, the EDH communication service reported difficulties in supplying electricity to certain areas. "Four substations in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince as well as the Varreux power plant have been destroyed or rendered completely dysfunctional," lamentred the EDH in the statement, informing that some circuits will not be able to be powered as usual.
