Haiti is slowly moving towards a major governance change. The country is transitioning from Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who had all the power - without any checks and balances - to a multi-headed governance system with a prime minister supervised by a presidential council of 7 or 9 members, some of whom will be observers.
This formula is concocted after political actors failed to agree on a lighter formula. CARICOM, Canada, and especially the United States of America are shepherding the discussions.
