OAS General Secretariat Condemns Delay in Haiti Aid, Blames "Criminal Elements"

The General Secretariat of the OAS did not mince words, labeling delays in security aid to Haiti as "irresponsible," a country "held hostage" by criminal gangs, on Monday, March 4, 2024, with no deployment schedule for the multinational national security support mission over 72 hours after a series of coordinated attacks by criminal gangs (Living Together), responsible for the deaths of at least four policemen in Bon Repos, fires at five police stations and substations, looting of a hospital, attacks on Toussaint Louverture International Airport, and the escape on Saturday of nearly five thousand prisoners from Haiti's two largest penitentiary centers.
