Indicted in the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in the referral order issued by investigating judge Walter Voltaire, Léon Charles, Haiti's ambassador to the OAS, tendered his resignation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Thursday. As the former Director General of the National Police at the time of the President's assassination, Charles stated that he was resigning to be able to defend himself.
