10,000 Internally Displaced Persons in One Week

According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), 10,000 people have been forced to abandon their residences following armed attacks perpetrated by gangs in several neighborhoods of the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince. These data, emphasized by the organization, were collected following the attacks that occurred in the communes of Carrefour, Cité Soleil, and Tabarre since February 5th.

This report is the result of one of the components that the IOM implements to understand the situation of the displaced and also to advocate for assistance to the displaced population and the communities hosting them.
