Kenya will proceed with its plan to lead the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, despite a Nairobi court blocking the deployment last week. This assurance was given on Tuesday, January 30, by Kenyan President William Ruto to the Reuters news agency.

On Friday, uncertainty loomed over the future of this mission after the Kenyan court deemed it unconstitutional to deploy officers abroad unless a "reciprocity agreement" is in place with the host government.
