More than a year after the halt of Francisque mango exports to the USA, the Haitian government, the National Mango Exporters Association (ANEM), and U.S. officials are discussing an alternative—irradiation treatment—to facilitate the resumption of these exports, which annually accounted for between 10 and 15 million dollars, benefiting half a million people involved at various levels in the sector, according to information obtained by Le Nouvelliste on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
