Ministry of Agriculture Assumes Sole Responsibility for Marion Dam

It has been 30 months since the inauguration of the Marion hydroelectric dam. Contrary to what was announced, only the Ministry of Agriculture is currently operating this retention dam. Nearly three thousand hectares of land are irrigated with water from this river. The lands are irrigated at least three days a week with a rather acceptable flow.

No more hesitation! The Marion dam no longer has the purpose of generating electricity and providing drinking water. The Ministry of Public Works, Transportation, and Communications (MTPTC), through Electricity of Haiti (EDH) and the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), is still not involved in the operation of this infrastructure.
