Prosecutors Go on Strike on Monday

The judicial system is on the brink of another paralysis as the Collective of Upright Magistrates of Haiti (COMADH) announced a work stoppage starting Monday, November 20, to "assert their rights." A letter has been sent to the acting Minister of Justice to notify her of this new halt to the judicial system.

"We want discriminatory practices to cease. Authorities tend to forget that the Haitian judiciary is a bird with two wings: the seated magistrates and the upright magistrates. We enjoy the same rights as the seated magistrates," argued Deputy Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Croix-des-Bouquets, Attorney Carl Giovanni Aubourg.
