OAS Urges Members to Back Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti

In a resolution adopted on the evening of Friday, November 17, 2023, the Permanent Council of the OAS called on the member countries of the organization and permanent observers to contribute, according to their capabilities, to the Multinational Mission to Support Security (MMSS) in Haiti, by providing personnel, equipment, training, and the necessary financial and logistical resources, among others. The hemispheric organization also urged political actors in Haiti to engage in dialogue to find a consensus.

While the Kenyan justice system significantly delays the deployment of the Multinational Mission to Support Security in Haiti (MMSS), the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) called on its members to support the mission at all levels.
