Caricom: No progress after five days of discussions among political stakeholders

After five days of negotiations, Caricom envoys still struggle to convince Haitian political actors to reach an agreement to resolve Haiti's crisis. Opposition parties maintain their stance, demanding the Prime Minister's resignation, while Ariel Henry's allies stand in opposition. There has been no change in the positions of the involved parties despite months of dialogue.

The Caricom envoys, having arrived in the country since Wednesday, November 8, are engaging in numerous meetings with political actors and civil society. The objective is to encourage the involved parties to reach an agreement to pull their country out of the political crisis and consequently, the insecurity. However, this latest attempt by Caricom representatives might meet a fate similar to previous ones, according to statements made to Le Nouvelliste by several involved actors in the process.
