The National Security Council of the Dominican Republic convened once again on Monday, October 9, 2023, to address the crisis stemming from the construction of a canal on the Massacre River. A series of measures were adopted during this meeting and were announced by the spokesperson of the Dominican presidency, Homero Figueroa. These measures include the establishment of temporary commercial corridors, the reopening of binational markets, and the strengthening of controls at the border.
