Following the Security Council's vote authorizing the deployment of the Multinational Mission in Support of Security (MMAS), Ricardo Seitenfus, former Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the OAS in Haiti in 2010, believes there is a long way to go to turn Resolution 2699 into concrete action.

"Haitians need to be patient. We're not out of the woods yet. There is still much to be done. Nothing is certain yet about the mission's deployment. The main challenge now is forming the mission," he stated
